Wow! It's hard to believe our final walk-through is next Friday and so is the closing... We were up there Monday and there are steps and a driveway! The brick and exterior is all finished and beautiful. There is only one other house in the plan with our brick (Bisque) and a separate one with our siding... Together, I love them. I will post pictures.
The cabinets were up and they were painting the last time we were in there. It remains to be seen if/how much we will need to sand when we move in before we paint.
It's amazing how much there is to do. Tomorrow, we meet with the blind people... and continue packing. We were ahead... now we're behind. How did that happen??? :-)
I can't believe it's already almost done. We'll be in for trick or treat!!!
This all sounds exciting, i was wondering tho, are u having the blinds people in there before closing? i am guessing with ur project manager....if u dont mind me asking did u shop around for the custom blinds, have u found the best deal or are they local? i found a comppany online that advertises for a certain amt back in a tax rebate or something but i cant remember who anymore, might be something to look into tho, Good luck!
ReplyDeleteWe are having the blind people come in to measure the windows and see what they have. They offer a discount to Ryan home builders and the quality is supposed to be good (with pricing similar to Home Depot/Lowe's). We didn't shop around - just seeing what they have and if we don't like it, we'll head to Home Depot. I believe they are Pittsburgh based. They won't be able to install until we close... but the project manager won't be there when we meet with them tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteWe are up in the house several times a week to see how everything is going. They just locked the house up - but if we stop at the model, they will give us a key. Have found a few things that they needed to fix.
So exciting! It feels like you just started your blog, and now your house is almost finished!
ReplyDeleteI would be VERY interested in your blind company since I'm in Pittsburgh, too. Keep us updated on how it goes with them, and if you like them, can you give me their name? I've been stressing about blinds/window treatments. If there's a Ryan discount, that would be great!
